The group exhibition Exercise in Unlocking Heteronormativity, part II is the second installment in a two-part display, presented by Q(WE)R — International Queer Culture Festival.

The exhibition showcases works by the artists Fuyuhiko Takata, Mala Badi, Pauline Boudry / Renate Lorenz, Akira the Hustler, Robert Waters, and Takashi Otsuka, exploring a variety of means to negotiate issues relating to social minorities, gender, and sexual identity.

Presenting works in sculpture, installation, video, painting, painting, and text, viewers are invited to delve into the personal and intimate worlds of the artists as means to reflect and engage through artmaking their notions of queerness — examining contemplation and joy.

Exercise in Unlocking Heteronormativity, part I is presented 18-23 April at TRUNK(HOTEL) Gallery in Shibuya.

グループ展「異性愛規範を解き放つエクササイズ」パートIIは、Q(WE)R - International Queer Culture Festivalが提供する2部構成の展示の第2回目です。

本展では、高田冬彦、マラ・バディ、ポーリーン・ブードリー／レナーテ・ロレンツ、アキラ・ザ・ハスラー、ロバート・ウォーターズ、大塚隆史の作品を展示し、社会的少数派、ジェンダー、性的アイデンティティにまつわる問題を交渉するための様々な手段を探ります。

彫刻、インスタレーション、ビデオ、ペインティング、テキストなどの作品を通して、鑑賞者はクィアネスに関する概念を考察し、関与する手段として、アーティストの個人的で親密な世界を掘り下げるよう誘われます。

エクササイズ・イン・アンロック・ヘテロノルマティヴ、パートIは4月18日から23日まで渋谷のTRUNK(HOTEL)ギャラリーで開催されました。
